Common Snipe

Was trying out a new lens last few days and decided to do an early morning trip to the Wasan Rice Field. Shot this Common Snipe which is a lifer for me.

Always in a mixed-flock of Munias and Sparrows feeding on either the rice or grass seeds.

Common Moorhen is plentiful at Wasan Rice field and when this pictures was taken there were about 6 of them in the same area.

Another Winter Migrant that visits Brunei which was once consider a Scarce Winter Visitor but now more common.

Rails

Wasan Rice Field in Brunei can give a few nice surprises. This Slaty-Breasted Rail is one of them. Saw 3 in one day at 3 different sites around Wasan.

Peaceful Dove

Common throughout Brunei even in the city centre but at Wasan Rice Field it is more of a natural surrounding to photograph them. This photo was take just after the rain.

Terns

My first tern for this season is fairly common and I was lucky to have them not more then 3m so shooting them in flight was thrilling.

Winter Migration 2013

Starting my 2013 Winter Migration shot last week, this season I am making it a point to try and cover as much waders and shorebirds as possible but if there are other species around then it will be a bonus.
